A great session ended with a plus point on Yarmouth beach, 8 Mediterranean Gulls 2 of which were leg ringed. One was black on white E8O9, a Netherlands bird. The other was black on yellow but the ring was unable to be read.
I started off at Breydon Water in a frustrating mix of brilliant sunlight occluded by mist meaning that uggins of distant wildfowl and waders could not be identified satisfactorily. However the crud lifted and revealed most were Wigeon with a smattering of Teal. This still left the birds at the rear unverified apart from 4 Shelduck.
Because of the danger of waffling away I'm gonna get down to it:
Redshank galore, ditto Dunlin, several Curlews, Lapwings. Peregrine doing several sorties. Grey Heron, Little Egret, Cormorants. A skein of PFG, pr Mute Swan. 3 Stonechat, 4 Robin, Reed Bunting, 3 LTT, Goldfinches, 2 Chaffinch, House Sparrows.
Not forgetting several Great Big Bad Gulls and the Herring clan.
Pics follow on return home, to rephrase IF etc.
